[Dspforum] Did anyone use octave instead of matlab?

I use octave and audacity.
You can set audacity to record *.mat files. Then just use load() in either octave or matlab.
In audacity you need to open preferences then default output format then select other and in a pop-up window find matlab/octave
Hope this helps.
